MOA Collector Spotlight: Liya and Her Pink Yeonjun Photocard Dreams

Updated: Apr 30

I'm so excited to finally start this series! One of my favorite things about the MOA community is seeing how different everyone’s collection is. Some people are super selective, while others are completionists. Some collect OT5, and some focus on one member. Everyone has their own reason for loving it, and that’s what makes collecting fun.

Meet Liya: A Dedicated MOA Collector

For the very first MOA Collector Spotlight, I’m featuring Liya. She’s a longtime MOA with a cute collection system, a love for Blue Hour, and extremely relatable thoughts about collecting.

You can find Liya on Instagram at @by.yawnzzn_ and on TikTok at @liyab29._. Although she says she’s ā€œmore active on Insta!ā€

Liya is based in the U.S. and has been a MOA since pre-debut. She mentioned that she had always collected in some way but got more serious during the Minisode 3: Tomorrow era.

Her bias is Yeonjun, but she also collects OT5. This feels like such a classic MOA struggle! Right now, she focuses on collecting TXT OT5 album PCs and says she’s ā€œalmost done!ā€ with that goal. She also collects Yeonjun lucky draws, POBs, and more.

A Diverse Collection

Liya's collection includes a little bit of everything: album photocards, POBs, lucky draws, Japan exclusives, merch, signed items, and OT5 sets. When I asked how she would describe her collecting style, her answer made me laugh because it was so real: ā€œcompletionist, NOT budget-friendlyā€¦ā€

When it comes to her favorite item, Liya chose her Yeonjun Blue Hour Soundwave POBs. I fully support that decision! In her words, ā€œI love Blue Hour so much. They’re pricey, but all the photocards are so cute.ā€

She also shared that she still needs two more Yeonjun photocards to finish his Blue Hour lucky draw set. Being so close to finishing a set makes it feel even more special. There’s something about that excitement that just adds to the joy of collecting.

Organizing with Love

One of my favorite parts of her response was how she described organizing her collection. She said, ā€œAll my album photocards live in OT5 pages, while Yeonjun lives in pink sleeves. Both are in pink decorated binders!ā€

I love little details like that because they say so much about a collector. The pink sleeves for Yeonjun, the pink decorated binders, and the OT5 pages—it’s cute, thoughtful, and put together with a lot of love.

The Joy of Community

But like many collectors, what Liya loves most isn’t just the photocards themselves. When I asked what she enjoys most about collecting, she said, ā€œI enjoy the friends I've made while doing this, and the opportunities I’ve gotten to meet new people. MOAs are always so fun.ā€

Honestly, that’s such a big part of why this hobby means so much. Yes, the photocards are cute. Yes, pulling a prio is exciting. Yes, finishing a set feels amazing. But the friendships, the shared excitement, and the little interactions with other MOAs are what really stick.

Advice for New Collectors

Liya also shared advice that I think many collectors, especially newer ones, need to hear. She said:

ā€œSet a budget. You don’t NEED every POB. It seems like there’s so much, and you need to finish this set, but you don’t. If you just collect a couple or you just want this one because it's cute, there's nothing wrong with it. I feel like so much of the community cares about quantity when really it's what you want.ā€

It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure to collect more, finish every set, or keep up with what everyone else is doing. But collecting is supposed to be fun! It should reflect you—your favorite member, your favorite era, the cards you personally love, and the things that make you happy. It’s not a competition, not a stress spiral, and definitely not something that has to look the same for everyone.

That’s probably one of the reasons I loved Liya’s answers so much. Her collection sounds ambitious, but it also sounds personal, intentional, and truly hers.

A Special Note

As a final little note that genuinely made me smile, Liya shared that ā€œMOA Market has helped me build my collection a lot!ā€ That really means so much to me. Helping collectors find pieces they love is one of my favorite parts of running MOA Market. Hearing that from someone in the community is really special.

Thank you so much to Liya for being the very first collector featured in this series! šŸ’™ If you want to keep up with her collection, go show her some love on Instagram at @by.yawnzzn_. And if you’d like to be featured in a future MOA Collector Spotlight, you can apply here!
