MOA Collector Spotlight: Mal and a Binder Full of TXT Memories
For September’s MOA Collector Spotlight, I’m featuring Mal — a longtime MOA, a Hueningkai collector, and someone whose binder feels a little bit like a timeline of her love for TXT.
Mal has been a MOA since debut and started collecting more seriously in 2023. She had picked up a few photocards during the Temptation era, but only recently started getting more into collecting. Her main focus is Hueningkai, although she also tries to collect OT5 when she can.
Her collection includes album photocards, POBs, and signed items, and when it comes to her collecting style, she describes herself as pretty selective.
“I’d love to be a completionist but that’s out of my budget..”
There can be so much pressure in collecting to finish every template, keep up with every POB, or complete every era as quickly as possible, so I really appreciate Mal’s approach. She knows what she likes, collects what works for her, and doesn’t force herself to chase everything.

Her most treasured Hueningkai photocard
Mal’s current favorite item in her collection is a signed Temptation Hueningkai photocard — and not just any signed card. Kai signed it during send-off.
“I currently have a signed temptation Hueningkai pc as my favorite! He signed it during send off!!”
It’s hard to beat that.
A signed photocard is already special, but having one connected to a memory like send-off makes it feel completely different. It isn’t just something rare in a binder. It’s tied to a moment she actually experienced, which makes it even more meaningful.

A binder that tells a story
One of my favorite parts of Mal’s responses was how she described what her collection means to her.
“Opening my binder to see pcs from debut all the way up til now is very special to me. I feel like that shows how much I love TXT and have never stopped.”
I love this so much because it captures one of the best parts of collecting.
Sometimes you look through a binder and you’re not just looking at photocards. You’re remembering eras, comebacks, songs, concerts, and whatever was going on in your life when those cards came out. Over time, a collection can start to feel like its own little timeline.
For Mal, seeing cards from debut all the way through now is a reminder of how long TXT has been part of her life, and how that connection has stayed with her.
The community matters too
Mal also shared that one of her favorite parts of collecting is making friends with people who are willing to help her find the cards she’s searching for.
“Making friends with people who are willing to help me find the pcs I’m in search of! The community is very nice :)”
That part of collecting can be just as fun as the cards themselves. Trading, sending each other listings, helping someone find an ISO, or just having people who understand why you’re so excited about a specific photocard makes the hobby feel a lot more personal.
I think that’s something the MOA collecting community does really well. There’s always someone willing to help track something down, celebrate a completed page, or send you the listing for the card you’ve been looking for forever.

Mal’s advice for other collectors
Mal’s advice is simple, but it’s such a good reminder:
“Take your time collecting. It’s okay to take breaks from getting pcs, then coming back later!”
This is something I think more collectors need to hear.
You do not have to finish your collection immediately. You do not have to keep up with someone else’s pace. And you definitely do not have to buy every card just because it exists.
Collections take time. Sometimes you collect a lot at once, sometimes you slow down, and sometimes you take a break completely. None of that makes your collection any less meaningful. It should still be fun.
A little MOA Market love
Mal also shared something that made this spotlight extra special for me:
“I have a lot of love for Moa Market, and most of my collection is from them! I would love to show my appreciation for them.”
That genuinely means so much.
One of my favorite parts of running MOA Market is getting to see people build their collections over time. Knowing that a lot of Mal’s Hueningkai collection came through the shop makes it really special to get to feature her now.
Helping MOAs find the cards they’ve been searching for is the whole reason MOA Market exists, so getting to see those cards eventually become part of a collection full of memories is pretty amazing.
Thank you so much to Mal for being September’s featured collector 💙
